Crusader Youth sends special thanks to Scott McCuen for his many years of service to the CYAA soccer program. Scott gave many hours to the development and running of this vital program. We wish Scott the best as he moves onto other ventures.
Long term goals for the soccer program are being formulated. For the fall season, no changes will be made.
The only exception to that will be trying to move more practices and games to the fields at Lancaster Catholic.
This allows our youth to develop at LCHS facilities and allows CYAA to run concession stands to boost income.
CYAA Youth Soccer Director – Bryan Fossi (Head boys coach at Lancaster Catholic HS)
CYAA Crusaders Youth Soccer is a recreational soccer program open to boys and girls attending Catholic elementary schools or registered in religious education at a Lancaster County parish. In continuous existence since the mid-1980s, CYAA soccer welcomes kids of all abilities to join teams organized by age and coached by volunteers from different parishes—all of whom must have Diocesan clearances. As a recreational program, our goal is to ensure that every player has fun, learns the fundamental and technical skills of the game and develops teamwork and sportsmanship qualities. There are no tryouts and all players receive ample playing time.
Our U6 & U8 teams practice in house and compete within the Manheim Township Soccer Club Saturday mornings. Scores for games are not kept and the focus is on having fun, not the outcome of the game. Our U10 – U15 boys and girls teams participate in the Lancaster Area Recreational Soccer League play against other local clubs in Lancaster County.
We are a Catholic-focused program with a stress on teamwork, sportsmanship and having fun. Thanks to dedicated coaches and many returning players, CYAA Crusaders teams have had success over the years, both in terms of winning matches and also learning discipline and building friendships.
